Mass Transport in Arteries

Hi! I'm modelling blood flow in the arteries and I was hoping to progress to the modelling of mass transport across the artery wall. The alteration of transport of molecules occurs in areas of recirculation, stagnation and separation. I was hoping for a starting point with regards to what modelling technique I should use. I have tried constant concentration gradients between the fluid and the wall with little success when compared to published work. I was wondering if the problem requires a multi-phase fluid. Thanking you in advance, Paul
