DEAr all,

I have done an iteration based on a contracting which has a small annulus voluemtric heating in the installed in the middle. This volumetric heating source is actaully a small disc shaped volume which gives out constant volumetric heat. After iterations, i find that the temeprature at the heating source is given as a red shaded volume instead of a distribution in the temperature....When i do adjust the ragne however, i do got a different coloured volume e.g blue I need to know whts the highest temeprature reached in the annulus as it is important for my project..Can somebody enlighten me as to how i can find out the maximum temperature in the annulus? Is there anyway in the 'report' menu where i can do it? Plz help urgently...i need to submit report soon..

Thnx a million.

If you're interested in finding maximum temperature of air or other solid - use surface integral - maximum facet value of temperature for the walls of the heat source. For air temperature variation you can plot the temperature variation along any axis using plot xy - select temperature and if you don't have any wall to select then create section planes using surface - iso-surface - grid ... THis way you can see the variation of air temperature in the plane created. Create more planes and see where the max. temperature is...

From wht you are saying, i gather there isnt any direct way to find out the maximum temperature inside the heated solid?

See if you can check the maximum temperature of the interior belonging to the heat source! Use surface integral then select the interior of the heat source...

It might work!
