Hi,

We want to test the LES model in 2D. Manual says to use the

(rpsetvar 'les-2d? #t)

text command, but it doesn't work. Any idea ???

PS. Fluent representatives say we shouldn't use 2D and LES but I come from Paris where UGm took place and I saw there a Fluent presentation about aeroacoustics where LES was used in ... 2D.

Alexandre,

The command (rpsetvar 'les-2d? #t) really works. Don't forget the brackets ( )

2D LES is a good thing to test your methods and learn about the Fluent settings, as it gives results in less computing time. However, real-life turbulence is essentially 3D. Simulating turbulent flows with very advanced/sophisticated methods is rather nonsense if you forget one of the important global flow features.

Yes, now it works.

I tried it with a "cut and paste" and I think the spaces were not recognized.

Thanks anyway.

PS. I totally agree with your remark.
