October 27, 2002, 19:22 two phases problem #1 zhaofei Guest   Posts: n/a my problem is about two phases flow:in a extenal circulate reactor, the reactor is filled with some water, then the air spray into the reactor from the bottom, the water is moved follow the air. now i use the eulerian-eulerian model to simulate the experiment.but the result is not fit the fact:in the experiment, the water can circulat at a low air velocity( 4m/s ),but in the simulation, the water won't circulat until the air velocity reach 19m/s. now i cound't find what's wrong with me ,i am so anxious for your help!!!

I can immagine it will take a very long time until the airflow of 4m/s has caused the water to flow. What water-velocities do you have in your experiment with the v_air=4m/s? Laika, still orbiting

October 28, 2002, 11:09 Re: two phases problem #3 zhaofei Guest   Posts: n/a thank you very much!!! 1. the initial velocity of water is set to 4m/s,as the air volume fraction is 1,the water doesn't take effect. 2. the compute time is over 24 hours,i stop it because the residuals is not reduce,it run in the range 0.01 and 0.001,and never under 0.001.the following is my BC: inlet: air 4m/s,vof-air=1,intensity=0.04, water 4m/s,intensity=0.04 outletresure outlet standard k-E model,per-phases,standard wall function, sincere zhaofei
