MUSCL or Flux Splitting?

Hi all, What scheme does Fluent use to solve Navier-Stokes equation? and what order of accuracy? Thanks.

Re: MUSCL or Flux Splitting?

The coupled solver in FLUENT uses Roe Scheme. Order of accuracy - 2nd order

Re: MUSCL or Flux Splitting..any Limiters?

any limiters?any preconditioning?

Re: MUSCL or Flux Splitting..any Limiters?

It uses cubic minmod limiter.

Yes, preconditioning is available in FLUENT with coupled explicit & coupled Implicit solvers.

If the you select the unsteady solver and temporal discretization as "explicit" then the preconditioning will be off! Otherwise, all the times the preconditioning will be "on".

Thanks,

rk.

Sorry, Its cubic approximation to the minmod limiter

thanks alot..but still what about if the flow has discontinuity or vorteces? are there any switches to lower the order?
