Animations with FLUENT
Hello!
Iīm modelling a transient two-phase flow in a pipe and I would like to create an animation of the flow. My problem is that I would like to make the animation as a series of contour plots of the two-phase flow on a plane that I have created. I have followed every step in the FLUENT guide but when I look at the animation after the simulation, the only thing showing is a blue plane! I have no problem if I choose the outlet or the wall as the contour to animate so I canīt understand why it wonīt work for the plane I have created in FLUENT. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance! /Victor |
Re: Animations with FLUENT
Check your scale, I guess that either you or Fluent hasn't set it correctly. Before creating the animation create a contour plot with the correct range of what you want to animate and uncheck auto range. That might help.
A more fail-safe way is to create animations using text commands in a journal file. This allows you to set views, ranges, etc specific to your needs. You can then execute this journal file every time step to create hardcopies (e.g. jpeg) during each time step. Later these harcopies can be turned into an avi using freeware programs such as ImageN (I don't like the mpeg creation in Fluent). This approach also works nicely if you have saved the data files of each timestep. |
Re: Animations with FLUENT
Thanks Erwin! I am not that familiar with how to write a journal file so I created a macro that made a hardcopy every timestep and that worked as well. /Victor
