Default help,velocity boundary

hello how i can enter a fixed dischage in a rectangular open channel by velocity boundary?and tell me how i can have the results in a txt extention,i mean for example i want to have velocity within each element with X,Y,Z dimention of that.thank a lot

First Q, can't answer 'cause never tried it.

Let me get the 2nd Q correctly, you want the values of velocity in a text file for X, Y, Z dimension...am I correct?

Open Surface - Line/Rake or Point or Plane or Quadric: Create line at the positions you want Open XYPlot - Display plot of the line you created. If you vary Z position then it should be (X,Y,Z) = (0,0,1). If all okay, click write to create a .txt file

This is for Fluent v5.5, for v4.5 you can get the whole data at one go using Universal file but you have to know how to extract the data i.e. using FORTRAN. That is beyond my knowledge.
