Hi everybody. Question about pressure loss calculation. Have anyone experience using Fluent to calculate pressure losses. What are the better turbulence model and what are the better all functions to calculate pressure losses in a simple geometry (as a tube) For instance fluid is water, Diameter = 0,5m ; Re=50000 thanks for your help Olivier

I have many problems about porous media and heat exchanger. If someone have done such examples, please be so kind to let me know. Thank you!

The model is to simulate the flow and thermal fields in the cylinder. When the air flows through one row heat exchanger in the middle of the cylider, the heat transfer occurs between the air and water. What type does the exchanger belong to? Porous media, porous-jump, radiator, or heat exchanger? Please help me. Thank you!

As always, the appropriate turbulence model depends on the conditions. For laminar through middle of the road values of Re and relatively smooth (i.e., commercial steel or better) pipe, the k-epsilon has given us good results in the past. If you have very rough surfaces and a sharp pressure gradient in the boundary layer k-epsilon is less accurate (although I don't know exactly why).
