Mass Transfer and Deposition

I have a mixture of water and sand in a duct. I want to have deposition of sand on the duct' s wall. Which model will be used in order to compute the concentration of sand near the wall? Thank you and a Happy New Year!

U have to use either FPM or Mixture model. I'm also doing that for the pipe network.

Thank you for your reply. I have used the mixture model, but I don't know what is the "volume fraction" of phase-2. If phase-2 is a solid particle can I solve this problem with mixture model? How can I find the concentration of the solid particles in the "contour command" of postprocessing?

Re: Mass Transfer and Deposition

Yes u can simulate the solid particle as liquid particulate. U need volume fraction and dia of that particle. Take liquid which has same density of your solid and modify what you need.

Go DISPLAY>CONTOUR then select PHASES from top right pull-down menu and then u will have either 1st or 2nd phase.

What is exactly the "FPM model" and how can I activate it? What are the differences from the Mixture model?
