Meshing problem
Hi,
If you split up your volume into parts, so that it's easier to mesh, do you have to put them back together after the mesh is applied to allow the fluid to flow, e.g i split a pipe into two parts and meshed them, same shape/spacing, separately and the flow was distrupted. Why was this do the grid have to be connected and if so how do you do this? Cheers John |
Re: Meshing problem
If you have two separate face where both volumes shoudl be connected, FLUENT assumed these to be a wall, i.e. you need to connect those faces with each other. If you do that you will see that one face is deleted and the two volumes share this remaining face. Regards, Jürgen

Re: Meshing problem
John,
Another approach is to group both fluid volumes under the same "FLUID" in 'specify continuum type.' For example, my geometry was decomposed into 36 different volumes (all comprising the same fluid region). You can set the boundary conditions (faces) in Gambit, but can also set the fluid continuum (volumes). Hope this helps. -Eric R. |
