Flame distinction

Hi all,
I am trying to simulate a flame. To ignite the flame I patch a temperature of 2000k to the fuel inlet cells. This initially seems to produce a flame. However after a number of iterations the flame seems to distinguish. Can anyone suggest a reason for this? Cheers, Mark. |

First of all, it is called 'extinction' and 'to extinguish'.
Secondly, try initializing your entire flowfield at a temperature of 1300K or so. If that doesn't work your reaction rates could be too slow. Alternatively, when using a breakup model you could try making the reactions only mixing controlled, this will get the reaction going irrespective of the laminar reaction rate and thus irrespective of the flame temperature. |
