combined structured and unstructured grids

Default combined structured and unstructured grids

I have read that using structured grids causes less overhead in processing time as the grid numbering in simpler. Will I see a significant improvement in processing time if I use a structured grid for part of my model and an unstructured grid in part of the model which is not possible to mesh without using tets?
