Default Tgrid meshing around cylinders in GAMBIT

Hi,

I've got square pipe with a filleted inlet in a large control volume. The "filleted" mouth is formed by the union of a semi-cylinder with the pipe wall.

I've split up the entire model into suitable chunks to mesh.

However, when I try to mesh the control volume (Tgrid), I always encounter problems, because of the filleted mouth...there's some skewness problem...

Has anyone successfully accomplished something similar before?

You probable created a 'tangent' line at the location where you split the wall and the control volume. A tangent is where two lines gradually move closer to eachother creating extremely small long volumes. Try moving the split deeper into the pipe to make the fillet part of the larger volume. Or when that is not possible, don't make the fillet 90 degrees but make it e.g. 80 deg to eliminate the tangent line.
