Coupled Vs Segregated solver

Default Coupled Vs Segregated solver

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the energy equation is treated differently in each of the solvers? I am modelling compressible flow I get very different temperature results when I use the coupled solver. I would be grateful for any help!
