Can Fluent do this?

Hi,
Can Fluent or any other CFD package simulate a refrigerant flow(phase changes when it goes thru evaporator and condenser) in a heat pump setup? We have a test facility here. We would be very interested in computer simulations of the set up Thanks Srinivas |

There is no way to simulate the whole system in one model. But, it may be possible to separately simulate the flow process in the main components of the refrigeration system. Even so, the size of each model may be huge, depending on the complexity of your system. Good luck.

I think fluent is lacking in its phase change capabilities, but there must be other code out there that can do this. I have several years of experience in refrigeration, and am an expert in the field (supermarkets and some industrial refrigeration systems).
I am intrigued and would like to know more of your testing, if you are at liberty to talk about it. Email me at your convenience. |
