Hi,

After reading and checking mesh file in fluent I have message about grid check failing. Such failing is due to the face handednes. (Zone 18: 251698 right-handed, 2 left-handed). How can I avoid such problem?

My mesh doas not contain negative volumes.

Thanks, ff

Hi

I run into this problems once, the only way to overcome this problem is to made a new mesh or to plan a different strategy for the volume decomposition.

Best Regards

Alex

If you are using Gambit to make your model, you can check your mesh grids straight in Gambit, and it can inform you where exactly your mesh has gone wrong, and therefore you only need to delete/repair the problematic face or volume, and not the entire mesh.

Hi Chris

I was aware of a function to check inconsintencies in GAmbit. Therefore, Could you please tell me how do you check a mesh in gambit in order to determine the above mention problem!

I high appreciate your reply

For Gambit, go to the Mesh panel, where you usually choose boundary layer mesh, line mesh, face mesh, etc.

There's an icon with the information-"i", which allows the user to collect information about the mesh.

Now click with the right mouse button (I think it's the right-mouse button) on that "i" icon, and you should be able to choose the alternative "tick" icon. That is the button for "grid check"

I hope that helps!
