Mass flow outlet

Hello !

Does anyone know if it is possible to use mass flow outlet in FLUENT 6.1 (for compressible flow) ?

Hi Thierry,

It's impossible to use outflow boundary with compressible.

Cf the help : \\fluent6.1\help\html\ug\node203.htm

Hi Hendawi ! Thanks for your answer. I want to simulate a supersonic flow around a fighter aircraft WITH the engine inlet !! So my external box is conditionned with pressure-far-field (that seems good) but I have to put a outflow boundary on the engine inlet (because the mass flow rate is known). How I can do ?

I know that "outflow" doesn't work in compressible flow but in FLUENT 6.1, you can specify a target-mass-flow-rate with pressure-outlet (/help/html/ug/node198.htm). However, it seems not working in my case !? Does anyone know how "target-mass-flow-rate" works ? (method 1 or 2 ? pressure max and min ?...)

En fait après moult essais, on dirait que ça fonctionne le target-mass-flow-rate !! Par contre ça bouffe pas mal en temps CPU mais bon...faut ce qui faut !!!!
