I am trying to do one of the fluent 6.1 tutorials, no11 dynamic meshing, this requires a compiled UDF to be input where the c file is provided. I am getting the following error"
Make sure that UDF source files are in the directory that contains your case and data files. If you have an existing libudf directory, please remove this directory to ensure that the latest files are used. 1 file(s) copied. 1 file(s) copied. 1 file(s) copied. 1 file(s) copied. (system "move user_nt.udf libudf\ntx86\2d")0 (system "copy C:\FLUENT.INC\fluent6.1\src\makefile_nt.udf libudf\ntx86\2d\makefile") 1 file(s) copied. 0 (chdir "libudf")() (chdir "ntx86\2d")() 'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. 'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Done. Opening library "libudf"... Error: open_udf_library: The system cannot find the file specified. I am using Fluent on Windows, in the user guide it says that it may be necessary to input the full path name but i only seem to be able to use the browse function. Any clues? |

Hi,
I had the alike problem last week as you have. But now I solved it. I think perhaps you created your "libudf" directory in the wrong directory. It must be putted in your working directory. Besides, you need also have c/c++ 6.0 compiler, with which you can work for dynamic mesh. Then you can build and load your udf library correctly. Good luck! |

Yes the compiler is separate,
Visual Studio C++ 6.0 is needed, or VS C++ 7.0 which ships with Visual Studio .NET btw then the prosess is slightly different for including the compiled UDF, look at the installation help section on http://www.fluentusers.com Cheers, -Paal |

Hi
I am trying to work through the fluent tutorial 10 about simulation of wave generation in a tank. When I put the UDF in I get an error messgae on the main screen. This is the message I get Opening library "libudf"... Error: open_udf_library: The system cannot find the file specified. Error Object: () What am I doing wrong, I followed every step in the tutorial properly, the same error happens in tutorial 12 using dynamic meshes with a valve. The UDF files are written properly as they are written by fluent themselves. So what am I doing wrong? I have MS visual studio as well, and the udf doesnt even work after sorting out the enviroment setting and opening fluent by command prompt. Could someone please help Thanks in advance |
