Default VOF and Source Term

Hi,

I would like to know if someone succeeds in adding a source term to the vof equations using the multiphase VOF scheme ?

My simulation diverges as soon as there is creation of vapor in the liquid ? any ideas ?

Another question. In the fluent documentation, I read that it is not possible to simulate cavitation with the VOF model due to the techniques of surface tracking. But I don't understand why it is possible to add a source term using the VOF model, and so on, model cavitation by using this source term ??

Thanks,

Best regards.

Hi!

I also never succeded to make a good simulation of cavitation using VoF. I thik ROOZBEH did a lot of work implementing source term in VoF, but I don't know if he had any succes.

Good luck

Hi; I have a question here! I want to model cavitation with VOF in Fluent some days ago by adding source terms. But I could not even succesfully compile my udf. My sourse terms consist of pressure and volum fraction of water liquid. I will be very happy If I can to even compile it. please guide me.

Hi roozbeh,

I wrote to you some weeks ago at this subject, but I don't have any answers.

I didn't succed in compiling my UDF in Fluent. I have already written and used several UDF, and I think I know the right way to do it, but my differents UDFs to model cavitation using DEFINE_CAVITATION_RATE or DEFINE_SOURCE never get compiled !!!

So I did experiments using interpreted UDF where my UDFs work without any errors... until there was creaiton of vapor, and then the simulation diverged !!

Please take contact by email, I will give you more details.
