Thermal contact resistance without meshing it?
Is it possible with FLuent 6.1 to define a thermal resistance between 2 surfaces without mesh the goop(for example 0.04°C/W for a given area)? Like a 1D conduction..
Because I have 2 surfaces with a gap filled with thermal grease, the tickness of the thermal interface is about 0.05mm so I want to avoid create it in gambit to mesh it, it's too small.. Any idea? Thx |
Re: Thermal contact resistance without meshing it?
If the rest of your geometry will allow it, make the thermal interface thickness larger and increase the contact conductance by the same amount in the thickness direction. It isn't entirely correct, but the results may be anyway.

Thx for answer but with this way I must mesh the interface and I want to avoid that :/
