modeling a continuous fiber/thermoplastic process
Does anyone know if it is possible to use POLYFLOW or FIDAP to model a melt impregnation process? It's similar to pultrusion, where you have a bundle of continuous, unidirectional fibers pulled through a melt bath, and with the help of pins and a die, you achieve impregnation of the fiber bundles.
I am very new to CFD and the first step is seeing if either of these programs is even capable of solving this problem.
Going with my previous posting, I suppose I can only specify a permeability for the fiber phase of my process, and this phase is not even allowed to move??
