Mesh Qulaity Criteria

Hello Fluent Users,
I have a concern about the quality of the mesh I generate. We all know a good/bad mesh can make or break your CFD career. What are the criteria of a good mesh. Skewness lower than 1. Should it be really equi angle or equi size, what should be the maximum granularity ratio ( for example fluent says your element size should not vary more than 5:1), How many minimum elements we need across a volume to minimize numerical diffusion. Does it has to be the same way for all volumes, or should it be perpendicular to flow path. What about Non Conformal meshing, From time perspective, it is easy to tet mesh (unstructural) and move on, reduce cycle time, how many non conformal surfaces you can have in a geometry, any limitations on it. If some one has any idea about these criteria it could be great help if you can share your thoughts with us. Advanced Thanks. Thanks Rony |
