Rotors and Propellers

Hi,

I've seen Fluent, in its website, describing an application to a helicopter in hover. May I know what options it has for the modeling of the rotor? Is it actuator disc, or dynamic moving meshes fixed to the rotor?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

It is modeled as an actuator disk by using blade-element theory. They used a user defined function to define flow properties on the disk representing the rotor blades.

Hi,

May I know what parameters are involved in this function?

Hi,

I think it is not available for common use(at least so far). May be you try to make it yourself. I dont think it is difficult. You just have to know balde-element theory.
