devergent solution

hi, i have started coupled solver and implicit scheme.i set courant number 5.but the divergent solution is obtained.what should i do.i want to learn about turbulence model also.please any body can help me. nabeel

Re: devergent solution

Start the iterations with courant number 1 or less with 1st order discretization scheme. Run it for 20 or 30 iterations and later you can increase the courant number slowly. Once you see the solution is stabilized, change the discretization scheme for "flow" to 2nd order and run it further.

i have attempted but the solution do not converge even after 3000 iterations. nabeel

Re: devergent solution

Does your problem requires coupled solver (high speed aerodynamics or similar...)? If not, try to switch to the segregated solver, which usually is more stable.
