Hi all!

If I want to build a long pipe with small cross section in the Gambit, how can I creat the following mesh: the space of mesh along the direction of flow should be larger than that of cross section. I don't know how to implement it in Gambit. Can somebody give me some hints? Thank you!

After you create the geometry, mesh the edges along the pipe length per your desired spacing, then you can also mesh the edges along the pipe height or circumfrence. Then mesh the complete face or volume.

This should be simple. Have you looked into the tutorials or manuals?

Hi Chetan Kadakia,

Thank you for your hint! I am a user of CFX before, and now I have to learn to use Fluent. So I am not so familiar with Fluent, and there are some differences between these two software.

Thank you again and best regards!

Hi Chetan Kadakia!

In CFX, we can use Mesh Control to specify the area which we need to modify. Four kinds of type are available: point, line, triangle and surface. As for how to use them in details, you can see CFX tutorial.

I don't know the specific price of CFX, maybe $10000 or higher. Like Fluent, it also depends on what kind of License you need.
