Default low resolution of x-y plots

Hello CFD community

I need to improve the resolution of x-y plot generated in Fluent. I am currently, using tif format with length 640 and height 440 because I use imaging from microsoft to insert these pictures in a word document.

My current problem is that the shape of the simbols and numbers is blurry using imaging. If I use postcript file the numbers are clear but the symbols still unclear.

If someone could give me a good suggestion I really apreciate his or her comments.

Thank you in advance

Hi,

I think you could write to file the data that Fluent uses to generate the x-y plot, so that you can use any other software (for example Excel) to create your own graph with the style you prefer.

You just need to enable the 'Write to file' option in the x-y plot panel.

Hope this helps. Regards,

Ale

hi

Thank you for reply my question. Your suggestion is good, however, I can not implement it because the amount of data to store and postprocess will be too much for my laptop and excel.

I hope I can made the x-y plots directly in Fluent

Thank you

Post-script output should not looked "blurred" when used for "vector" graphics. I just did a test, (using gv (or gsview)) and x-y plots look fine to me, and I can zoom into anylevel without them looking bad.

The problem may not be with the postscipt files themselves, but the way they are being viewed/printed.

It could be that the postscipt is getting converted to a bitmap (raster) at the point you import it into word.

There is a program around, called "pstoedit" that can convert postscipt files to other more usable formats, such as wmf, which maybe handled by word more easily. http://www.pstoedit.net/
