Pressure Outlet

Hello everybody,

I am trying to model a simple jet flow. Laminar, Incompressible, unsteady flow. At the exit boundary, I specify pressure outlet condition. Is it good to use this condition.Does the pressure outlet condition work the same as outflow condition and extrapolates properties from the interior. Thanks in advance

Re: Pressure Outlet

Pressure outlet imposes a constant value for pressure or a pressure profile (using UDF) at the outlet.

All other properties are extrapolated from the interior.

Hi :)

Hi, I did simulate a jet flow recently: Falling down Water jet into air. Are you simulating it in a confined domain? If it is the case, your jet will attract air by moving and create recirculation zone. Depending on how far from the jet is your oulet, I would advice you to use a pressure outlet with a correct backfow setting.
