ramjet inlet

hi,

Did anybody ever model ramjet inlet using Fluent?

Regards

HI,

are you trying to model the entire ramjet including the combustion physics? or simply the inlet with the shock cone?

Hi,

I am trying to model only the inlet. The flow is a bit complicated from 3 Ma to 0.3 Ma with oblique shocks and normal shocks. Some are as shock trains.

Fluent is the market leader especially in Aero industry, but how good is it in solving such wide-range flows?

Would you share your experience?

Hi,

Simply the inlet should not be a problem using the coupled solver fo fluent. We have had very good success in modelling a wide range of supersonic flow field ranging from Mach 1.5 to M = 5. We'd be glad to help out in any way we can. u can reach me directly at my email (nmenon@mech.wits.ac.za)
