How to run Gambit in background

I want to run a bunch of .jou files in background. Is there a way I can do it without open gambit GUI?

Thanks.

Jack

Re: How to run Gambit in background

gambit (on unix at least) has the following options for running journal files.

-inp(utfile) journalfile (implies batch run and no gui)

-init(file) journalfile (a journal file to run at startup of gui mode)

-res(torejournal) file (implies batch run and no gui)

Rob,

Have you tasted this? Or just refering what is in the manual. I tried to run GAMBIT once in the background but did not work.

yes. I usually use unix, but especially for you, I have tried it under windows and it works just fine.

What exactly did you mean by "does not work"?

Rob,

I was once trying to run a journal file at the background to generate and mesh a geometry. The job script I created was not able to complete the job and was generating error messages which I do not remember now.

At the time I was using remote machine so may be some installation or configuration issue might be the source of the problem.

It is good that I heard from you it is working. I will try again.

Thank You
