Default two phase modeling

Can Fluent take by itself the bubble/droplet coalescence and or break up in two phase gas -liquid models? to do that, what is needed to be done? how can i consider it in my model? do i have to write some kind of udf for that? can any one help me on this topic? Thaking you in advance....

No, FLUENT does not implement population balances by itself. To do what you want you need to implement them using UDF and UDS, but I don't think it's an easy task.

You can find some article in literature about population balances applied to multiphase flows. If you don't find them, ask me for them.

Hi,

VOF model is able to capture any interphase deformation (like bubble/drop coalescence and break up) considering inertial and surface tension effects.
