Boundary conditions for dynamic mesh model
 
Hi,everyone:

I need your help.I write a udf for a rotating wall or rotating fluid zone.

1)When I define the fluid as "deforming"and choose my udf for "geometry definition",message appears "incorrect geometry udf pump on zone 1 (assuming no geometry)" how to solve it?

2)how to set boundary conditions ?It's different from the use of DEFINE-PROFILE macros (in which a udf is easy to found in boundary conditions panel after compiled).However ,when using dynamic mesh model ,the udf couldn't be found in the boundary condition panel.

my case is that :the wall is rotating ,so the fluid around the wall is rotating .But i only simulate the fluid domain

Could you give me some advice? Thank you very much!

Hi, Lingo,

I believe that you used one of the special macros for dynamic meshing in your udf. When you work with dynamic mesh modeling, first you write your udf source file and compile it, then you go to define-dynamic mesh-parameter, after that, you define your boundady udf in define-dynamic mesh-zones, not define it in boundary condition panel.

Hi,emma: So glad to get your advice. I have a question:how to define the rotating wall or fluid zone in the boundary conditions ?Do you mean that I never set them in the boundary conditions for example,keep the fluid "stationary"? Thank you very much!

Hi,

You need to define this rotating wall as one of the boundary conditions, type "wall" in Gambit or other fluent preprocessor. "Fluid" can be kept stationary as default.
