Species Transfer !!! Top Top Urgent!!!
Hi everybody,
I am working on 2D combustion chamber. The reaction that takes place inside the chamber is ch4 + o2 = co2 + h20. So my mixture is here ch4 and o2 ( reactant) and my product is co2 and h20. I know there are 4 species inside the chamber . But I need to see Carbon monooxide (Co) as a part of my species inside the chamber. Then what I did I copied Co from fluid instead of mixture coz there is no co in methane-air mixture. But surprisingly carbon monoxide ( Co) didnt show up inside the chamber. Can anyone tell me how can I solve the problem ? I want to see Co inside the chamber. Pls let me know earliest Thank you Mohammed |
Re: Species Transfer !!! Top Top Urgent!!!
Dear Mohammed
It is not that if u include CO in Materials panel, it will come out as product. U have to model/include the corresponding reactions in the Reactions panel. CH4+3/2O2 ->CO+2H2O According to the rate and the model which u have chosen and also depends on stochiometry only, ur final product is decided. Try to include the above reaction and check whether u are getting CO. If u want both CO and CO2, include this C+CO2* - > 2CO I think this will solve ur problem Regards Karthick |
Re: Species Transfer !!! Top Top Urgent!!!
Mohammed,
Use the two-step methane/air mixture when selecting the mixture in the species transport model. CO is a product of this mixture and should hopefully solve your problem. Mark |
