turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio

Hi

My solution is going to converge but after each iteration I am getting messege that " turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio 1.000000e+05 on x cells". I am using realizable k-epselon model with standard wall function.

Anyone please help me to get rid this problem.

Thanks

Re: turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio

This problem usually happens if you have a too coarse grid somewhere in your domain. Plot a contour of the viscosity ration and try to refine the grid there.

Look for other messages on this subject too, there are a lot of questions and answers in this forum.

In fluent u just goto

SOLVE.....CONTROLS.....LIMITS .. in limits increase the value of Max. turbulent viscosity ratio to 1.0e10+07... ..it is just the limit...it will not affect ur final solution.....afterward u will not get the mentioned message and u will get faster convergence..CERTAINLY ..try once best luck!

Re: turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio

I don't agree. The limit on turbulent viscosity ratio has been introduced to obtain a stable numerical solution, but it's not necessarily correct.

FLUENT sets the limit using a value which is acceptable in many cases, but if the limitation takes place it could affect the solution.
