What is computation speed for mulitiple CPU

Hi,

Dose someone know how computation speed will be, let say that use 8 CPU and 12 CPU to compare to one CPU, if you run Fluent 6.1 software? Are there any equation to calculate the speed ratio?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

See Fluent website - benchmarks. There is no function, but the ideal is a linear speedup with slope 1.

For the the stuff that I've done on an SGI Origin 3400, I found that using 8 processors gave me a solution about 8 times faster. Haven't tried any more because that's all our licence allows. I suspect that a cluster setup would be much slower.

Cheers, Tim.
