Hexa vs. Tetra

Dear Fluent users, It is well know that cfd accuracy can be improved if the mesh is aligned to the flow direction. Therefore, Hexahedral meshes gained pouplation over the tetrahedral ones to the exetnt that many users take it as a fact disregard the flow case. What I concluded from modeling free shear layer is different. In zones where high ciculation exists, tetrahedral grid gave better results compared to Hexaherdal. I would like some one who has expeience in FLUENT basic discretization to highlight on this and give some useful explanation. Thanks in advance. Jim

Re: Hexa vs. Tetra

Hi Jim, that seems very interessting for my work and i would like to know in which specific case (2-dim; 3-dim; v=?m/s;...) you made these observations! Which wall treatment methode did you use and whats about you y+ values?
