Hello my friends;

I started the simulation of 2 phase flow in a 180 degree bend (open channel) with a lateral intake, using VOF method. but there is a concern:

1- after many hours past for iteraation, there are no changes in water surface and it remeins a flat surface.

would you help me?

best wishes, a.safarzadeh

Hi Have u check once input velocity profile.Is it time dependent or constant.Unless it is time dependent u cant get some waves. Kethireddy---RWTH-aachen-Germany

Hi my friend

thank you for your attaention. the input velocity profile is constant. in this problem,at the t=0 sec, i patch an adapted region that hase a constant depth at all of the modell ( e.g 10 cm of water for 25 cm depth of channel) and i want to determine the steady state water surface profile that developed because of inlet velocity and gravity force. in this case, the surface must has a superelevation, but the results dont show this phenomenon and the first depth stays constant.
