Discrete Phase Model on liquid

Hi there,

Does anybody know if the Discrete Phase Model (DPM) can be used for modeling liquid as the continuous phase in Fluent 6.1. I only have seen examples on gas phase!. Thanks,

Rodrigo

Re: Discrete Phase Model on liquid

Hi,

I am using in my simulation the DPM model, for flow of particles in blood flow, so there is no problem of using it for fluids. Just remember that this model is good only when the particles concentration is less than 10% of the whole volume of fluid. If it's higher than 10%, you should use other models, like mixture models.... check it in Fluent help on the relevant chapters. Good luck.
