Hi,

In my model, particles are injected to the flow. I defined a new material, from which the particles are made. However, in the "Define injection" window, this new material did not appear in the list from which i can choose, although i defined it in the Materials window. I can only choose from the existing material list. Why does it happen, that the new material i defined does not appear in the injection window, and how can i define the particles to be made of this material?

i am using the DPM to calculate the liquid-gas flow, and when the flow was solved , i need to add some solid particles(ash) to the liquid.i successfully defined two types of injections with different materials.

what i did was to define a material as discrete phase first,then in the material window chose the "innert-particle" and the "database" define another material.

But how did you define that new material inside the database??? The program won't give an option for that under the injection screen!

define it in the material window, you can't do it in the injection window.

what you have to do is the following: 1) Define the new material (innert particle or droplet particle) -You can do it by clonning another existing material at the material panel-->database-->droplet particle -Or you can directly edit thye matarial database file C:\FLUENT.INC\fluentx.X\cortex\lib\propdb.scm. 2) Once you defined the new material you have to add/create in DROPLET particle, from the material panel. 3) After that you can see the new material in the injection panel.
