Dynamic Meshes

Hello,

I am working on the unsteady flow around flapping (plunging and rotation) wings using moving meshes. This week I succeeded in using tetrahedral elements in combination with spring-based smooting and local remeshing using the default values given in the Dynamic Mesh tutorial (valve). But in the end I want to use hexahedral elements. I have the following 2 questions:

* After a couple of plunging periods I got a segmentation fault because negative cells occur. How is that possible? Why is the mesh at t=0 not the same at t=T (period)?

* I want to use hexahedral elements. Do I have to use the dynamic layer mesh update method? I tried it without succes. It is not used in the tutorial, so I do not know what a respectable values for the split and collapse factor coefficients?

I hope that someone has encountered typical problems concerning the use of dynamic meshes with Fluent.

Thanks in advance, Frank

Re: Dynamic Meshes

Are you using In cylinder flow dynamic mesh model?
