how to mesh iges files with gambit 2.0 ?

hi everyboby,

Is there someone who know how to mesh an iges file with gambit ?

My file represents levels curves of a city near Paris (France), the surface of this area is about 12 km * 12 km.

When I import the iges file in gambit, I have this : "Imported : 0 ACIS BODY(s), 0 FACE(s), 477 EDGE(s), 0 VERTEX(es)" in the TRANSCRIPT window. So I could mesh my edges, but how can I "link" all these meshes being given that I don't have any faces ?!

And after that, how could I define the Boundary Conditions in gambit ?

If someone already had this problem, it would be nice to explain to me how I must proceed.

If you don't understand what I want, please contact me I could give you more details.

Thank's everybody for reading my message.

Hi Lionel,

I am not so sure of what your problem is, but from the fact i understood , i can say that u can try importing the same geometry may in ACIS format if u did so import in IGS format (r vice versa), r else with the same format try linking all the edges and try forming a face, taking care of the edges u wanna give boundary conditions, u can also have a look at the Last GAMBIT Tutorial in the GAMBIT 2.1 Documentation. C whether this helps.

Krishna.

Hi Krishna,

in fact, I had in project to link all the edges of my geometry, but I just wanted to know if it was necessary to do that because I have a lot of edges to link ! But if it is the only solution, I'll will do it.

Bye, and thx for your reply
