Default Gap produced in sliding mesh method

In applying the sliding mesh method at propeller flow prediction, the solid propeller will be wrapped by the fluid to form a rotor. Instead of rotate the embeded propeller, we rotate the entire rotor.

Should I minimise the gap between the propeller tip and rotor edge to reduce the inconsistency of the virtual rotating and the physical rotating?
