Hi there, do you know if it's possible to store the animations (as video format) of particle trackings and path lines?. I need it for a presentation, so it need to be portable, in a video format. Any comments are welcome. Many thanks,

Rodrigo

Hi Rodrigo

I have tried the same earlier with no success. I tried to store the particle track (automatic saving after each timestep). No idea why I was never successful. Then I followed a simple method: 1. Set your grid display to required view. 2. Save load data file and display particle track. 3. Save hardcopy with suitable file-name-series. 4. Load other data files without disturbing the view and save hardcopies. 5. In Microsoft Powerpoint (or any other presentation package that you use), simply paste these hardcopy files by Crtl+V on seperate slides. 6. Set suitable slide transition delay.

Link this customized animation file to your main presentation file.

Though it is very simple looking, is very effective method with little extra trouble.

Thanks Prasad!...I actually found a program that records directlly from your active window in the PC screen...I finally used this software in my ppt with excellent results (http://www.bakker.org/cfm/graphics08.htm)..., so if you need to make a presentation, use it!.

Cheers,

Rodrigo

Hi Sam,

The software is located here: http://www.bakker.org/cfm/graphics08.htm, and it's called HyperCam 2. The explanations on how to use it are in the web site.
