I have been trying to use the acoustic module in order to determine the generated noise froom turbulence etc through a design of mine. I have come across many probs. (in particullar with the source file),

Although from what I have read in the documentation that I caqnnot use the Acoustics modulle for my purposes, I have been told that it may be possible.

If anyboddy has any experience or have completed a similar problem please help, it would be much appreciated.

Hai Nev, I am a Research scholar from IIT Madras.I am also working in the same area viz. acoustic and flow analysis of mufflers.I was using Fluent 6.0. for my work. I got stuck at the same place, whether or not I can use acoustics module in Fluent. Let me know when u get some information! thanx in advance. sharath.

Hi Sharath,

I have not solvd it yet, and am not optimistic. The fluent documentation says that it can be only used for external flows - and the only example of its use I have found on thhe web site is for the noise generated around a side view mirror of a car.

I have also contacted the australian fluent distributors, the first person I talked to said I could not do the calculation, while te second person sent me a 'to do' list which is along the same lines of thee fluent help.

I ll keep you posted on it.
