Can the changed mesh file be used?

Hello!

I have worked with a mesh file in FLUENT and saved it in case file. But, I have to change the geometry a little. My question is whether I can use the changed mesh file in the same case file. I mean, whether I can work with the new mesh file without repeating all processes in FLUENT except the changed part.

I can not express my question well. When you can not understand it, I will try to describe in detail.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

It can't be done according to my knowledge. Zones/B.C.'s can be changed but changing geometry would be difficult.

Hope it helps.

You can save a boundary condition file under /file/write-bc and read it in again by /file/read-bc.

You have to keep the same boundary-zone titles. All boundary conditions (for the existing zones), material def., model def. etc are kept.

Monitor definition might fail, since the selected zones depend on their position in the zone list (this might change due to new boundary zones).

Solution parameters seem not to be maintained. Scaling has to be done manually.
