Default RSM divergence

Hello,

I'm modeling flow through non-uniform porous media with periodic boundary conditions. When using the k-epsilon model the solution converges to a believable answer, however when I switch to the RSM model the solution diverges. I'm using the QUICK scheme, does anyone know of instabilities with the RSM model and/or QUICK scheme.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Hey Steve, are you using a steady or unsteady solver? Have you tried a lower flow rate to start then gradually increase it? Are you using RSM from an initialised domain or switching over to RSM from k-e on the fly? These are things that I usually try when I have divergence; although, they haven't worked for me yet with LES.

Tim (from the conference).

Hi Tim,

I'm using the steady solver, and switching from k-e to RSM on the fly. I'll try gradually increasing the flow rate. I also tried the PRESTO interpolation for pressure and it did not work. Thanks,

Steve
