one question about turbulent boundary

Hi, I find the Turbulent Intensity in fluent manual is set by the equation; I=0.16(Re)**(-1/8) According to it, the higher Re is, the lower the Turbulent Intensity is. Is this right? I can not understand.
I think the Intensity number will be higher with the growing Re. I am confused now. Need someone's help. Thanks. |

Hi,
I think you are right. But other than Reynolds no. intensity also depends on roughness. I will get more details , if you get something in mean time, kindly reply. Regards, Titiksh |

Thanks for reply.
I tried different Intensity and Hydraulic Diameter numbers for a Fluent tutorial file, the 2D blower. There is only a little difference among the results I got from different Turbulent Boundary. The biggest impact is on the convergence. One question I have is for Pressure Inlet Boundary Condition, how to estimate the Turbulent no. since we dont know the velocity. |
