Gambit error: Cannot find exceed x server
 

I have installed Exceed 7.1 and Gambit 2.0 on my PC operating with WinXP. This error message appears whenever I tries to run gambit "Unable to Find Exceed XServer" or "Unable to open display".

Tried using the following workaround posted in Hummingbird website but the same error still persists.

Open up Control Panel Double click on System Click on the Advanced tab Click on the Environment Variables button Under User Variables click the New button In the Variable text box type: DISPLAY In the Value text box type: computer_name:0.0 (where computer_name is the actual name of your computer) Click OK.

Any advice how to resolve this?

install complete verson of exceed with selceting complete ans also make it common

You just install the exceed again, and give personal installation or complete installation. Then it will work. And if you have gambit 2.0.4 version, install it. It will not give any problem with exceed 7.11 version. I hope it will work

Tried re-installing exceed and gambit but still didn't work...

Try with gambit 2.0.4 version. And give the license path correctly.

hi all i have the following error while trying to open the gambit, can u please tell me hoe do i fix it.
gambit XIO: fatal IO error 0 (Winsock Error) on X server JONBONRAKI-PC:0.0
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
