Hi

I've some problems with dynamic mesh.I want to add dynamic mesh in process of laser welding of materials.I don't know how to write udf in this case.I want to obtain deformation of surface during laser welding of material.

Thanks for any help.

Actually, this is a quite tough task to complete. I am doing the similar dynamic remeshing during the simulation. The big problem is that some kind of negative volumes appear as iteration proceed. It seems that FLUENT is not good as such kind of problem for radom remeshing.

When you got the negative volume detected, there's some ways that you can do to avoid it: 1. Reduce the minimum volume ( around 1e-13 is ok for 2D and 3D problem) 2. Reduce the maximum skewness to force FLUENT remesh at highly sknewnesss region. For 3D, i tried the maximum sknewness around 0.75 and it's quite ok. Regards Duc Vinh

thanks. I will try it. In my case, DEFIBE_GRTD_MOTION was used to describe the individual nodes movement on the boundary wall. The nodes were expected to move inwards the computing domain. However, the velocity movement of nodes is not same for the nodes which could cause the distortion of the cells. Have you had any experiences for sloving such problem?

I will appreciate it very much if you can give me some sugestions.

Regards,

Kim
