questions about keps model and wall function

Dear all, If I use the k-eps model in the "viscous/models/..." and select enhance wall treatment in the 'near wall treatement'. Does this combination mean low Re number model? If right, which low-re-model it correspond? Thanks a lot!

Re: questions about keps model and wall function

If your y+<=1 it is low Re solved with a k-l or one-equation model. if your y+>1 the solution is a blending between a low Re and adapted Wall Functions. Try the manuals, its rather complicated to explain in a few words...

Re: questions about keps model and wall function

Dear dieter,

Thanks for your reply.

Then if my y+<=1, and just repeat the procedure as follows:

k-eps model: "viscous/models/..."

enhanced wall treatment:'near wall treatement'.

So it means the combination should be a low -Reynolds number model? If so, it corresponds which low-reynolds number model? 0 Abid 1 Lam-Bremhorst 2 Launder-Sharma 3 Yang-Shih 4 Abe-Kondoh-Nagano 5 Chang-Hsieh-Chen

Thanks a lot! sarah

Re: questions about keps model and wall function

that I don't know very well. I think Fluent takes his Low-Reynoldsmodifications (damping functions) from several sources... but it is not clearly explained in the manuals. So I can't answer that question properly, sorry for that
