Default Porous media, Brinkman-Forchheimer equation

Hello All, I'd like to model a porous medium using Brinkman-Forchheimer equation. looking at momentum equation and refering to Nield and Bejan's book, The RHS of the equation includes -(muo/K*v)-(Cf*rho/sqrt(K)*|v|v) while the LHS includes porosity at denominator of the convection term. FLUENT porous media model uses the regular momentum equation with adding source term to that. The question arises when I'd like to match Brinkman-Forchheimer equation to the FLUENT model. What I was thinking of was using the intrinsic velocity instead of superficial velocity to get rid of those porosities in the LHS and get closer to the regular momentum equations but if I am right in that, what should I do with the RHS and calculating the source terms coeffcients.

Any help is highly appreciated

I am doing something similar, trying to verify my results for the partially porous channel and the channel with a porous plug with the results presented by Betchen et al. (2006).

I am finding divergences of the order of 10%, and I think possibly because of these porosity coefficient on the denominator.

If anyone knows how to modify the equation being solved, or how to add a negative term of whats being solved to later add what I want to solve, I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.
